I was born and raised in Peterborough and really developed my passion for painting throughout lockdown and the pandemic, subsequently moving to Norfolk in December 2021. I live with my grandparents who have encouraged my artistic skills ever since I could first hold a paintbrush.
My wider family are also incredibly supportive. My uncle Malcolm stops by every Christmas without fail and gifts me art supplies of every type and I do my best to use them all.
I count myself very lucky to have such a supportive family around me who only want the best for me.
For as long as I can remember I have been painting and creating art. As a younger child, I spent many hours crafting, so by the time I reached primary school art was the subject I looked most forward to each week.
Once I reached high school, I was encouraged by my art teachers to pursue my passion and work with a variety of media. I studied GCSE art and this really helped me develop my artistic flare. The picture on the left, shows one of my first art projects and I can now see how far I’ve come since then.
A lot of my recent work has been focused around portraits. The portraits have been created using oil on canvas and a variety of brushes. I love using rich colours that reflect the character of those I am painting. This is why I always like to get to know the subject of the painting.
Although it is not always possible to meet those you are painting in person, a brief description of the person, their likes and dislikes and any life experiences, give me so much more than just a picture to work from.
Aside from the portraits that people request, I also love to paint nature, animals and also have experience painting the human form.
